Site Dedication
This site is dedicated to Hawaiian kahuna Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona (1913-1992).
Years ago, I had the good fortune of being a student of hers and receiving from her a
body of spiritual teachings. Prior to meeting her, I had read Max Freedom Long's books about the Hawaiian psycho-religious system known
as Huna (HOO-nuh, which means "secret"). But it was her instruction (and her presence) that quickened my understandings about
consciousness, energy, transmutation and Hawaiian mysticism, and galvanized my interest in holistic healing and holistic living.
There are different kinds of kahunas, and Morrnah had numerous specialties. She is remembered
best for broadening the definition of ho'oponopono, adapting it to individual use. But she was also a kahuna la'au lapa'au, an
expert in herbal medicine, a practitioner of lomilomi (massage), and a kahuna pule, one who works through the power of
prayer.
In her later years, Morrnah lectured and conducted training on the mainland and around the world
at medical facilities and higher institutions of learning. Three times she gave the training at the United Nations in New York. In 1983, both
the Hawai'i State Legislature and the Hongwanji Mission of Honolulu named her a "living treasure of Hawai'i."
The principles she emphasized live on through the teachings of her
The Foundation of I.
The above photo of Morrnah Simeona was likely taken circa 1985-1990. Mahalo nui
loa to a kind person in Germany named Klaus, for sending me this long hoped-for photo.
